Sunrise Fitness Classes
Instructor Patti Mickelinc will hold classes Mondays and Thursdays from 5:15am – 6 am for six weeks. Please arrive 5 minutes early to sign in.
Monday Ashtanga yoga is extremely popular. It is a vigorous, athletic style of practice. It appeals to those who like a sense of order and who like to do things independently. When practiced regularly, Ashtanga realigns the spine, detoxifies the body, and builds strength, flexibility and stamina. The series will follow a 45 minute class format beginning with sun salutations and moving on to standing poses, seated poses, inversions and bridges before relaxation. Bring a sticky mat. No registration is required.
Thursday Resistance Training Group Format is a 45 minute strengthening workout utilizing dumbbells and body weight to build muscle and increase metabolism. AFAA Fitness Instructor Patti Mickelinc will teach form and technique, and then show you how to challenge yourself with safe modes of exercise. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels. Participants must be free from injury to start this class. Cost is $6 per class, no registration required. We have several dumbbells to loan, however to ensure you have the weights you prefer, it is best to bring your own.
Discounts available! If you are a member of SVECFC, classes are $5. Even if you are not a gym member, if you sign up for both classes and pay in advance, the cost is $60, this is a $12 savings.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics is one of the most beneficial activities you can enroll your child in. The physical elements that can be built through gymnastics are amazing – spatial awareness, flexibility, relative strength, dynamic and static balance, and more. If for no other reason, the ability to know where you are in space and take a fall ‘well’ is a required skill for any sport.
Having quality coaches at the helm of this activity is imperative. That is why we bring Owego Gymnastic Academy coaches here. Coach Annie is safety certified through USAgymnastics, as well as CPR and First Aid certified. She has almost 25 years of experience working with the OGA and was a gymnast before that. Annie attended college on a gymnastics scholarship. She brings great knowledge and energy to the Spencer program. Jana Bowen is the president and director of Owego Gymnastics Activity and Learning center and has 26 years coaching this sport.
All classes are 4 week sessions held on Thursdays
Lions (18months-3 years) 10-10:30am (must be walking and have parent or responsible adult present) $25
Tigers (3-4 year olds) 10:30 am to 11:15 am (must be Potty trained) $35
K – Grade 4 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm $50

Instructor Patti Mickelinc invites you to join her for 45 minutes for a total of 6 weeks for a fun core conditioning class. This class will help you to:
- Reduce injuries
- Increase performance
- Increase flexibility
- Improve coordination
- Improve posture
Please bring a mat, towel and stability ball if you have one.
No registration is required.
Cost is just $6 per class or $30 for the entire 6 week session.

Instructor Patti Mickelinc invites you to attend a 45 minute cardio-vascular training session with her. Come train using various musical beats per minute guaranteed to get your heart pounding while you’re having fun!

Come join Dance Instructor Erica Hanson for a fun hour of dance. This class will NOT hold a recital, this is just a great way to enjoy a variety of different fun and exciting dance styles.
